Off-Leash Dog Areas
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County offers six off-leash dog areas at Blackwell, East Branch, Greene Valley, Mayslake, Pratt's Wayne Woods, and Springbrook Prairie. While annual permit fees provide for basic operating support of the areas, additional donations can help us improve the amenities available to both four-legged visitors and their companions. Trail improvements, benches, trees, and mini-shelters are needed and 100% of your contribution will benefit District-Wide Off-Leash Dog Areas.

The events below focus on many of the fun outdoor activities that are available through the county's forest preserves. Each features sponsorship opportunities that provide excellent ways for you to broadcast your support for the communities, families and forest preserves of DuPage County.
"Hard-Water Classic" is the Forest Preserve District's newest special event. Held in January, this ice-fishing tournament, the first of its kind in DuPage, attracts seasoned and novice anglers from across the Chicagoland area to try their luck at reeling in the big catch of the day.
"Wonders of Winter"
"Wonders of Winter" at Mayslake Forest Preserve in Oak Brook is the Forest Preserve District's annual snow-season celebration. This free event, held each February, introduces visitors to an array of indoor and outdoor forest preserve activities, including snowshoeing, ice fishing, horse-drawn sleigh rides and crafts. Since the event began in 2000, attendance has been growing yearly. Last year over 1,000 visitors of all ages came dressed for the weather and ready to try different ways to beat cabin fever.
"Just for Kids Fishing Derby"
Each June, the "Just for Kids Fishing Derby" at Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville promotes the sport of fishing to over 500 children ages 15 and under through a fishing contest, educational displays and prizes.
Please check back for more information on sponsorship of these upcoming annual recreation events.
